Trinity Hospice, London, was founded in 1891 and is the oldest organisation of its kind in England. The hospice accepts patients with any non-curable disease with a limited life expectancy. While the majority of patients suffer from cancer, others have illnesses ranging from heart and kidney disease to AIDS. There is also an Education Department which is a leading provider of professional education in all aspects of palliative care and related fields.

Special care like this is not cheap. Nevertheless it is a fundamental principle that all patients, regardless of means, are cared for free of charge. Less than half of Trinity's costs are met by the British National Health Service. To pay for the devoted medical and nursing care, there is a great dependence on voluntary donations as well as funds raised by the Trinity Hospice charity shops.

The London to Sydney overland expedition is proud to support The Trinity Hospice. For more information, contact
